Product Review: Harmony Organic Egg Nog

Eggnog has never been considered a sport food but I see no reason why not! If chocolate milk can be proven to be beneficial to athletes especially in the recovery period after exercise then eggnog will have the same result. It has the protein and carbohydrate and liquid combination you get from the milk with an added bit of protein from the egg yolks, and an added carbohydrate boost from the sugar. Eggnogs are not all made the same even though the eggs and sugar part of the recipe is what makes it eggnog and not just milk. Check the ingredient list of your eggnog to see what the recipe includes.

What I love about Harmony’s Eggnog beverage is…

  • This drink can be an excellent recovery snack comparable to chocolate milk for after hockey. You will probably want to combine 1 cup with another protein rich snack or a glass of plain milk.
  • There are no colorants used like I see in many other brands.
  • This recipe tastes like a classic homemade recipe.
